this week we had to turn in the draft of our paper. I hope i did well on mine. I think there are a few things i need to work on. In some places it seems to me like i might repeat myself.. then again maybe not? I think there are some things that perhaps may not belong in my paper. I guess i'll have to see after the review is in. Sometimes its hard to put all the information together and figure out which way you want it to go.. Is my info flowing right? is it in the wrong order? all things i guess i'll figure out after my draft is reviewed..

unit 5

In unit 5 we learned techniques to help us with the pre-writing process. I think that this unit will be extremely helpful to me writing my rough draft because i can use these techniques to organize my thoughts and how i want to present the information. I want my rough draft to really represent the work i have been putting into this project and i believe these techniques i have learned in this unit will help me do that. When i use the informal outlining, it is going to be helpful in my putting my ideas in the order in which i want to present them.

This week we learned the importance of citing our sources for our research papers. I think it's important because you don't want to steal someones work. I thought about how upset i'd be if i put my work into something and someone stole it and didn't give me the proper citation to say that it's my work. So its really important for me to site all my sources properly even though its kind of confusing.

Unit 3

This week we have to create a thesis statement for our research papers. I think i have an idea what i want to say in my thesis but I'm not entirely sure. I have had difficulty with forming my thesis statements in previous assignments so I'm hoping to have better luck with this one. I think i want to do my paper on how marijuana/ THC effects the body of those who use it. Its a topic that interests me because i have an uncle who lives in Maine and is part of the medical marijuana program for his arthritis. Although Massachusetts, where I'm from doesn't have such a program, its still something I'm interested in. I'm excited to see the thesis statements of my classmates and how they are doing with their research papers.

unit 2

Unit 2 should be very interesting. I'm looking forward to finding out what other people are considering for their final paper topic. I have several topics that i'm thinking of. the first topic i was thinking of is the effects of marijuana on the body. for that i'd describe how THC, the component in marijuana that makes someone "high". Another topic would be the effects of tobacco on the lungs. I'd also consider the topic of how consuming alcohol effects pregnant women.. so many topics to choose from and they are all so interesting.

week 1

Week one of a new class is always exciting. I'm looking forward to managing motherhood with my courses and my job as well. Thank God i have my family and my boyfriend to help me through this!!
